Before I post about the latest underappreciated animal, I would like to make it clear that I am a sinner. I did not kill any any individual, abuse any soul, or even taken the lords name in vain. Much worse, I have not been contributing to this blog on a regular basis. As a direct result of my negligence, the lack of promotion of these animals is causing even more underappreciation. In theory, my very blog is causing what I set out to combat. This type of disrespect is not only wrong, but it is racist. In order to deter this racism, I will change. As John Adams once passionately declared, "The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people". We can furthermore extend this very principle and use it as a guiding precedent to my blog. As long as the appreciation towards the animals I blog about exists in the minds and hearts of all of my faithful readers, then this blog is as successful as the Battle of Saratoga and Sherman's March to Sea.
Now that I have gotten that necessary information out of the way, it is time to turn our attention to even more necessary information,
The animal featured below is the SunBear
Now you may be wondering... why exactly is this SunBear underappreciated? Well, if you examine the name, the answer to this question becomes immediately apparent.
The SUNbear actually HATES the sun. That is correct. If you look closely at the picture, you can clearly see that the sun causes this animal severe dehydration and it causes it to look very unappealing. It is not only wrong, inconsiderate, brash, careless, and ungracious, but it is furthermore racist to name an animal by something it absolutely hates. Take for instance the kiwi, this animal actually despises not only the taste, but the very sight of a kiwi. This has been shown by various studies basing their findings on empirical evidence. We can further extend this principle to humans. It would be terrible self-centered of me if I were to call Joey "Rascal Flatts", "Tony Stewart", "Duke Basketball", "Big Ten", or even "Pencader Dining Hall". There is a reason for why we do not call him by these names! It would be indelicate and intolerant and furthermore reckless behavior.
Secondly, Adult SunBears have almost no predators except humans, due to their fierce reputation and formidable teeth. While it is believed that George Washington's teeth were made of wool, this is nothing more than an erroneous fallacy. In fact, George Washington established the trend for using the teeth from sunbears. This trend continues even today and your grandma or grandpa could even wear teeth made from these underappreciated animals.
As always, I pose several questions:
1) Can you think of an animal that is called by something it truly hates? If so, how do you think this animal feels?
2) Can you think of things your friends hate? How would you feel if you called them by this instead of their respected name?
3) Did you feel something missing this week in your life because my blog was not updated? (If I did, I really apologize)
4) What features would you like to see added to this blog?
Be well and be safe

I for one am appalled at this blatant racism towards this animal. The very foundation of our country traces the murdering of these innocent animals. We must appreciate these animals and abide by the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when he says "judge by the content of their character." Currently, we are disobeying the words of the illustrious Dr. King, and doing so we trigger a massive genocide towards these innocent animals. As Americans we can not tolerate what we have began with George Washington, possibly the killer of all sunbears. It is because of him that their is a rapid decline in sunbear population. If we as Americans do not change the course of our actions, we are heading towards a massive revolution by the sunbears.
I have recently stumbled upon perhaps the most controversial and racist information to be received within the last century. The Chinese have made it clear that they want to join the bandwagon of murdering these animals because they ruin their crops. In fact, the don't ruin much of anything, yet the ignorance towards them will continue forever.
awwwwww so cute!
I accept your apology, however if this happens again I will have nochoice but to chop your head off with a sodoring iron. Well, now that I think about it, I can finally pinpoint the reason as to why I was feeling so incomplete this week. It makes perfect sense!
I would like to see a music feature added to your blog, if possible. I believe that it would be very instrumental in providing your dedicated readers with a better atmosphere to provide feedback.
I apologize for not commenting sooner, and I know there is nothing I can say that will excuse my actions. But anyway, I cannot think of an animal at the moment that is named after something it absolutely loathes. I, however, was watching a televised show the other day where a man was nicknamed "Woody". In response to question number two, Mr. "Woody" said something very wise about his nickname. I do not remember it verbatim, but he said something along the lines of having such an asinine nickname builds character and makes one stronger.
I am upset with you not only for avoiding your duties but for calling this beautiful sunbear unappealing.. that is rude and who says you are sooo appealing?!!? I am appauled and that is an erroneous statement DeFelice... ok well I still love you kinda... byee <3
this sunbear is cute not unappealing!
1. I think the animal is agitated by human ignorance, thus developing its necessity to use humans as its prey.
2. You hate egg nog; I am pretty sure that you would be offended if I referred to you as that delectable beverage.
3. I did, and I feel that your actions were racist.
4. Call out the degenerates who are harming the animal population and make everybody hate them!
I believe it is going for the dangerous look...it looks pretty intimidating to me.
great kiwi reference but i believe the kiwi deserves a whole article not just one sentence. to answer your question about what features i would like to see, i would say: live webcams with these underappreciated animals so we can show our support and appreciation and they will be able to see it, maybe a poll or two so we can see what our online community thinks about these animals and what actions we should take to get them recognition, a foundation called "adopt an underappreciated animal" to care for these animals, maybe some a game or two where the goal is to appreciate an underappreciated animal, an underappreciated animal hotline, a webcast to raise awareness, maybe a fundraiser or two, and lastly some flashy animations to attract more supporters. and because i like flashy animations.
